Apple Leases Space in DuPont Fabros Santa Clara Data Center

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Apple (www.apple.com) will expand its infrastructure into a Santa Clara, California data center, according to a report Wednesday by Data Center Knowledge.

This announcement comes a month after Apple hired Microsoft’s data center general manager Kevin Timmons.

According to the report, Apple signed a seven-year lease for 2.28 megawatts of critical power load in a new data center currently being constructed by DuPont Fabros Technology (www.dft.com). The lease is expected to begin in the third quarter when the facility is opened.
